Day 2 : Digging up and Filling up {02.24}

Brad finished digging the trenches in the hole today, so it was time to fill it up with some water, creating a little moat of some sort. They need to hydrate the soil for compaction. The Sapp kids were in heaven playing on the big dirt hills and water. It was another windy and chilly day, otherwise we would have stayed and hung around a little longer. 

Day 1 : Breaking Ground {02.23}

We broke ground today! The weather was a bit chilly and windy, so good thing the excavator has an enclosed cab. 

Clean Slate {02.22}

The process of building a home is a long and exciting one. There are happy moments and frustrating moments. It is a long journey, but in the end it is all so worth it! I believe that these moments need to be documented, be it happy or frustrating. It's fun to look back on these moments and have all those feelings come rushing back to you. :) 

 Here it is, the day before groundbreaking. We were supposed to start digging today, but the guy we asked to do it backed out at the last minute and wanted to reschedule for a later day. So we scrambled today, finding out what would be the best solution. Later this evening, our "guy" decided to drop his excavator at the sight. It was then decided that Brad would start the digging process bright and early tomorrow morning.
